This 2night-tour offers the opportunity to experience the Japanese forests where you will feel truly relaxed!
The first day is a half-day walking tour of temples in the old town of Iiyama. A staff will greet you at the Shinkansen ticket gate. An orientation will then be held. You have the option to rent E-bikes and experience a special Zen meditation.
Then board the JR Iiyama Line to JR Togari Nozawaonsen Station. Enjoy the scenery of the local train line with its rice paddies. (This is a passenger-only tour, but our staff will guide you to the ticket gate.) Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by an inn member. After check-in, relax in your cottage until dinner. Dinner will be served at an izakaya (Japanese-style pub) in a renovated old private house near where you will be staying. You can also enjoy the atmosphere of the nearly 200-year-old old house. (Staff will pick you up and drop you off)
The second day is the main experience of this tour, the forest bathing experience. After breakfast, you will depart for a forest bathing tour with a professional guide and a local interpreter. In the beech forest behind the cottages, you will spend time experiencing the plants, birds, and other animals of this region, as well as the lives of the people of the snow country, using all of your five senses.
After the tour, enjoy a special lunch box made entirely from local ingredients.
In the afternoon, free time for a leisurely stroll in the forest, a nap in a hammock, or just relax without any electronic devices.
Optional tours can be added.
